Hello! I’m Matt DeMent, the proud owner of DeMent Electric, based right here in Silver City, NM. My journey in the electrical field started in a very personal way—it’s a family tradition. My father founded DeMent Electric back in 1985, and from a young age, I was right by his side, learning the ropes of wiring houses and absorbing the ins and outs of electrical work.
Fast forward to today, and I’ve accumulated over 25 years of experience in the industry. This isn’t just a job for me; it’s a passion that was ignited during those formative years working with my dad. At DeMent Electric, we specialize in empowering homeowners through solar energy installations, helping our community harness the power of the sun for a sustainable and independent future.
Customer service is at the heart of everything we do. I believe in thorough communication and educating our customers throughout the installation process. When you understand the product and the process, you appreciate the quality of the work and the integrity behind it. We don’t take shortcuts. Our goal is to ensure that every installation is performed meticulously and meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
What excites me the most about our work is the opportunity to set up energy independence for our customers. It’s rewarding to see the direct impact of our work on their lives, giving them control over their energy use and contributing to a greener planet. The ongoing learning and education about solar technology and its benefits are also aspects of my job that I deeply enjoy.
Outside of work, I love spending time in my garden. It’s my little retreat where I can relax and connect with nature. Gardening gives me a sense of peace and accomplishment, much like my professional work.
